This months job showcase is a full kitchen addition located in Eldersburg, MD – Carroll County. The 14×14 ft addition off the back of the house created an extension off the existing kitchen. This newly added kitchen space features cathedral ceilings, two skylights for natural lighting, elegant counter-tops, wall-to-wall cabinetry (over 20+ cabinets), and matched wood-flooring from the existing kitchen. A unique feature of this kitchen job includes a custom countertop for the island called a ‘butcher’s block’. This piece acts as both a surface for everyday kitchen use and an oversized cutting board. This unique island counter-top was custom-created for this project by a company located in Timonium, MD called FreeState Timbers. In addition to fabricating custom countertops, they have the largest selection of fine hardwoods in the area – over 100 species in stock. The homeowner’s were extremely pleased with the results of the final product. Their new kitchen is now the accent piece for their entire home. We also constructed a climate-controlled crawl space underneath the kitchen that can be accessed through a basement panel. This will most likely be used for long-term storage… Be sure to check out the pictures below!
