Key Elements of a Hotel-Quality Guest Room

As a host, you want your guest to feel relaxed and comfortable in your home. That’s why when building a guest suite, make sure everything in the room exudes luxury, making your visiting friend or family feel extra special during their stay.

In this article, Design Build Remodeling Group of Maryland discusses the essential elements you need to consider for your guest room.

Bed and Bedding

A comfortable bed and a fresh set of sheets provide guests with a good night’s sleep. To achieve this, choose a good-quality mattress and furnish it with high-thread-count cotton linen sheets. Make sure they are newly washed and firmly tucked. Afterward, add a thick duvet and two or three soft pillows. You can also leave an extra blanket for colder nights.

Bathroom

The bathroom in your guest room should look clean and fresh so keep the design simple and functional. For the floors, tiles and vinyl are the most practical and easy-to-clean options. As for the wall tiles, it’s best to stick to neutral colors. You can also stock bathroom essentials and place a tray or basket where your guests can put their toiletry bags.

Lighting

When it comes to lighting, it’s best to give your visitors different options that will suit their moods. Make sure to add bedside lamps and mood-setting dimmers. If you want a more stylish look, you can opt for freestanding lights or wall lights to illuminate a piece of artwork.

Furniture

Ideally, you should provide your guests with cabinets or drawers for storage. But if you don’t have enough space, you can install a rail or a set of hooks on the wall for hanging clothes. It’s also best to invest in side tables and a comfortable chair where your guest can read or have coffee.
