Basement Finish for In-Law Quarters – Marriottsville, MD – Howard County

Recently, we completed a 650 square foot basement finish project in Howard County. The newly renovated area will be used as an in-law suite for the homeowners parents. We designed a basic layout for the basement that mainly consisted of a single master bedroom with walk-in closet, a full bathroom, a living area, and a mid-sized kitchenette equipped with dual pantries. There had been an existing powder room in the basement, however we extended the space to just under 40 total square feet for the addition of a stand up shower. We replaced all existing fixtures with new ones, replaced the vanity, and applied a basic vinyl flooring. Throughout the rest of the basement, we framed out the desired layout, applied drywall, installed some recessed lighting & HVAC system, and finished it off with a few coats of paint. Aside from the vinyl bathroom floor, we installed nice, new laminate flooring throughout the remainder of the basement. To finish off, we installed a single-swing French door for exterior access. All-in-all, this was a very simple and basic project to complete. The homeowners were extremely pleased with our professionalism and the timely manner in which we completed their project. Here is a direct quote the homeowners gave on our ‘completed project customer survey’…

“We would like to acknowledge both Tom and Brian. Both of them were very respectful of Gene and were concerned with addressing her preferences. Tom was consistently pleasant and responsive to questions. Brian was also very pleasant and receptive to our many questions and suggestions. His feedback was timely and clearly focused on meeting our needs. Thanks to everyone who worked on this project- your consideration of our specific needs and everyone’s caring attitude made this significant life change easier to manage.”
